Location Recording

All of our recordings are carried out on location rather than in the studio. This is because finding the right acoustic for a particular recording is probably the most important single stage in determining the quality of the final recording.

Patrick Allen who, in addition to being an experienced recording producer and balance engineer, is also a qualified acoustician, and his knowledge of acoustics has often proved invaluable in getting the best sound from difficult venues. For large-scale recordings, Patrick is assisted by a team of experienced engineers.

We have recorded a wide variety of artists in many different venues, from small recital halls such as the Wigmore Hall, and the Purcell Room through to vast spaces such as Kings’ College Cambridge and St Paul’s Cathedral, and we can usually suggest a suitable venue to suit the music being recorded.
